🌿Partnership Announcement: Genuine Tea 🌿is the official tea brand partner of the Mental Health First Aid Kit.
“When I created the products for the Mental Health First Aid Kit, every single newly created tool had to earn its place. It not only had to be high quality, it had to do something,” says Melissa Salisbury, Therapist, CEO at A Beautiful Mind and Creator of the Mental Health First Aid Kit.
Companies across Canada are investing in and supporting the changing needs of their workforce by distributing the Mental Health First Aid Kit to each and every employee. Not only does this change the culture of a company, but it is also changing peoples lives. The kit strategically and autonomously connects each individual and their families with their mental health benefits, increasing utilization and providing much needed supports.
Genuine Tea’s values towards mental health and wellness, as well as quality of product, were aligned with A Beautiful Mind. Co-founder of Genuine tea, Dave O'Connor, was already supporting mental health and wellness initiatives when we approached them. They donate 1% of all proceeds Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). “To us tea is much more than a beverage, it is peace, it is travel, it is connection," shares Dave. Tea has led us on many incredible adventures around the world and it has been the catalyst for so many lasting friendships,”
Genuine Tea has been incorporated into the mindfulness tool, Self-Care Prescription, assisting in practicing moments of being present, pause, and reset in daily life.
“No matter where you go in the world, everyone has their own tea ritual and it is always about slowing down, unplugging and taking time for yourself and your loved ones. Tea is so much more than just a drink, it is medicine to help fuel a happier, more grounded version of yourself," David adds.
Welcome to the kit, Genuine Tea Company. ~ Melissa

The Inseparable Thread of Mental Health
Mental health isn’t something that floats around us like an extra layer we can step in and out of. It isn’t separate from who we are, or something that exists only when we label it. It is woven into every part of being human. Mental health isn't a standalone function; it is intertwined with every system in our body, so seamlessly that you can’t see where it begins or ends.

Your mental health lives in your thoughts, yes, but also in your body, your nervous system, your relationships, your environment, and your daily choices. It shows up in how you sleep, how you speak to yourself, how you respond under pressure, and how safe you feel in the world. There is no clean line where “mental” ends and “physical” or “emotional” begins.
We often talk about mental health as though it’s an add-on: something to manage after work, outside of life, only when something is wrong, or a yearly awareness campaign. But mental health is happening all the time. It’s present when you’re focused, distracted, energized, depleted, connected, or lonely. You don’t “have” mental health the way you have a hobby, you live inside it.
When we recognize mental health as integral rather than separate, care becomes more natural and less stigmatized. Supporting mental health doesn’t mean stepping away from life; it means supporting the systems that allow us to live it well. Rest, boundaries, movement, purpose, connection - these aren’t mental health extras. They are human necessities.
This is why every day is a mental health day. Not because every day is hard, but because every day you are human. A Beautiful Mind: Where Mental Wellness Begins ~ Melissa A. Salisbury, M.S., CCC
